Expert Committee on Strengthening Tax Justice and Fairness
The Expert Committee on Strengthening Tax Justice and Fairness is established by Article 144 of the Decree of 18 December 2025 containing the general expenditure budget of the Walloon Region for the 2026 financial year.
The Committee’s missions and composition are laid down by the Order of the Walloon Government of 19 March 2026.
Missions
The Expert Committee proposes topics related to tax justice and fairness to the Minister responsible for Finance. Once validated by the Minister, the Committee analyses these topics and reports its findings to the Walloon Government.
The Minister responsible for Finance may also directly instruct the Committee to analyse topics related to tax justice and fairness and report to the Walloon Government.
Composition
The Expert Committee is composed as follows:
- Five full members, together with their respective alternates, with academic expertise in tax matters
- One full member representing the Minister-President of Wallonia
- One full member representing each Vice-President of Wallonia
- One full member drawn from the staff of Wallonie Finances Expertises
